My phone won't turn on, it comes up with a lot of red writing saying android system recovery then gives me 6 options
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply updates from external storage
wipe cache partition
apply from cache

I have tried all of them but nothing. If i do a factory reset is there anyway i can save all my photos? Just returned from a holiday of a lifetime & all my photos are saved to phone, gutted isn't the word. I really don't want to send it off for them to wipe it clean, all my kids photos are on it from over the years. Please could someone advise.

Regards

Colette

Do you know if you set it up to use the external SD card to save to? If so you can unplug that and plug it into an adapter and read them directly with your PC/Mac. If they are actually stored on the internal SD, don't do a factory reset, and don't try to flash a stock ROM over top of what you have, that will definitely cause the loss of your pictures. Have you tried plugging the phone in (with it's USB cord) to your computer and see if Windows mounts it as a device? If so, you can likely drag/drop your pictures to somewhere safe on your computer and THEN do that factory reset to get your phone working again.

Unfortunatley all the photos are stored to the phone, i have tried to connect the phone to the computer but nothing happens, it keeps saying connect the device, not picking it up for one reason. It is driving me crazy not having a phone & the thought of losing all my photos over the years. I have had it into earphone warehouse & he says my internal memory is full which corrupts the phone, is this correct.

No, it doesn't corrupt it if you fill up the space, you just can't store more stuff (apps, pics, songs, emails, texts, etc.) on it until you clear space.
Here is a detailed explanation (granted it is a few years old) on how to get stuff out of a phone with a dead display - luckily you can see what you're doing so it will go easier.

Read through it completely first. Understand what you're doing, then read it again before trying. As long as you follow the directions you won't lose anything, and stand a very good chance of getting all your pics back. If it just doesn't seem to be working for you, you'll have the tools on your computer to have someone a little more technical come over and finish it.

Great find, Gozirra. We get a lot of requests that answer will help. I'm saving a copy in case that site goes offline.
