Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Notification sounds not always present....

I've noticed from time to time I'll get a message but never heard the whistle sounds.....sometimes I think maybe the car radio or someone talking prevented me from hearing it but last night I had the phone on the table in front of me and 3 messages came in and not one sound....I restarted the phone and the rest of the night (15-20) messages were fine....any way to ensure the notification sound is always there?

No answer only posting to say that the same happens to me on occasion. I cannot figure out any pattern to the missing notification sounds. I always check my volume levels when this happens and everything looks fine. Reboot phone and it's back to normal. Weird.

The one thing that has been a cause in the past has been an app. Not one in particular but if you have installed one recently and this behavior started since then, perhaps it is that one.
