Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Cases

Is there anything like this for the Note 4? The only ones I've seen are metal or really ugly rubber ones.

This is a great solution for the Note5... gives it excellent protection, but keeps it very thin and lightweight!

unfortuantely, they didn't make one for the Note 4, they only recently released the Crash Guard bumper for the Note5. Comes in red, white and blue....

Good that you didn't overpay with the Verizon bundle...

Get a tempered glass screen protector from Amazon...you'll find one for around $10.00... Browse these forums to research which ones people have had the most success with, and which ones to avoid... People seem to like the Invisible Shield "Glass" product... I put this product on my wife and both of my teenagers phones, and it is definitely a nice one, with beveled edges, etc... The cost was 2x-3x the $10.00 ones that you can find on Amazon...but arguably, the nice beveled edges make the product look a lot better... I paid $1.00 for the Skinomi protector with a coupon code a while back... Edges don't look as nice, but it works for me...

Installing it without bubbles and dust is just a matter of patience... Clean the glass really well, and be very careful placing the screen protector down on the surface... There was one tip that I saw somewhere that suggested you place the screen protector on the phone without taking the backing off just to position for fit...then use some painter's tape (blue tape) to tape down one side to create a door-like hinge...

Theoretically, you lift the screen protector off the screen (like a hinged door), peel off the backing, and let the screen protector fall back into place... I like the idea, though I have never used this method before...

Regarding case choice, it really is personal preference... Are you trying to protect from scratches? From a small drop? From a large drop? How much bulk are you willing to live with? After you answer these questions, then color/design choice comes into play... You'll end up with the right case in the end (or end up with 10 "right" cases like I did)!

Good luck!

Sorry for the late response. I couldn't find the thread again, and apparently either there aren't email notifications anymore, or I'm not signed up for them. [Edit: Just found the option for email notifications. Duh!]

Anyway, my husband, who has the patience of a gnat, didn't want to wait while I researched screen protectors and cases, so he went on eBay and bought the cheapest ones he could find (about $5.00 total for the screen protector and case). I figured they were good enough until I could find what I wanted.

My goal is/was strictly to protect the phone. I like TPU cases because I had one on my last phone, and despite having dropped the phone several times, nothing ever broke. (The screen had flexible clear protector -- not glass.)

I want to protect the phone as well as possible -- bulk is not an issue, because I always carry some kind of purse/bag/backpack.

And now here's the punch line -- I just broke the glass screen protector. I managed to bang the front of the phone against the lid of my laptop, and the edge of the protector is chipped and has cracks radiating from the chip. Even with a magnifying glass, I can't tell if the actual Note 5 glass screen is damaged. I feel sick about it. I haven't even had the thing for a month!

So now I'm looking for advice. I'm guessing there's no way to tell if the screen is damaged without removing the protector, so I need to either buy a new protector ASAP -- before I removed the cracked one -- or just go to Verizon and let them remove the cracked one and put on a new one (assuming the screen's not damaged), but that'll cost me $25 or $30 and I don't know how good the Verizon protectors are.

So maybe I should just buy a decent screen protector online, and leave the cracked/chipped one in place until the new one arrives. I don't have time to do a lot more research -- I need to order something ASAP -- so if anyone has specific recommendations, I'm all ears. Is the Invisible Shield a Zagg one? Money is really a major issue for me, but I'll spend what I have to for proper protection.

And if the screen IS damaged, I'm sure it's gonna cost me a bundle. :(

Thanks for any suggestions/recommendations.

Just ordered my UAG case for the N5 and it came with tempered glass ! I've had outstanding service from these cases on all my phone's great grip little to know bulk and bullet proof if you drop the phone !

I'm using the VERUS CASE, holds up to 3 cards, I longer carry my wallet around due to SAMSUNG pay, it's pretty amazing.

Nice find victoryrules8 !! Evutec makes nice stuff. They never made Note cases in the past, glad to see that has changed. I think I'll order one tomorrow. I'm using the Ringke Crystal now and it is nice but the clear glossy back on the case shows fingerprints BAD just like the actual glass back of the Note 5.

Hi.

For those that are familiar with the Otterbox Symmetry, do you feel like it offers enough protection against accidental drops? Or not really?

Thanks!

Any thoughts on Tech21 cases? I received this case for free when I purchased my phone, and so far I like how thin it is.....Just wondering how durable these are.....Debating if I should purchase something else.

Got my Luphie case in the mail over the weekend, and it's pretty much my favorite case ever. It's made of all metal and glass and I like the extra bit of heft it adds. The black is a fingerprint magnet, but I don't mind much.

Anyone have or know of a good wallet case, but not the folio type, just need it to be a typical open faced case, but with card slots on back of phone..

I got the Spigen Slim-Fit in black.

Pros:
Very thin and light. Barely adds any bulk to the phone.
Basic protection for bumps and scratches. May offer minimal protection for short drops.
Has a protective "lip" for both the screen and the camera lens.
Clips on securely.
Doesn't get stretchy like some cases.

Cons:
Minimal protection for drops.
USB port hole will not allow for cords with chunkier connectors
S-Pen hole makes pen difficult to eject
Grease magnet. Seriously, any touch makes it looked like I put my phone down on a pizza.
Spigen insists on putting "Auto Focus" near the camera. Why? I haven't had a phone without auto focus since my Blackberry 8310. Might as well put "cellular" or "digital" on there too.

Overall not a terrible case, but I'll probably get something a little better after the holidays.

A black one was all I could find when I first got my White Note 5. Since then I bought a clear/white edge one online. I didn't really mind the black case as it reminded me of licorice candy. I love this clear one though being able to see through the back. The little diamond texture inside the case helps to hide any fingerprints but it really doesn't show many at all. It's a very nice case. They are pricey but so is the phone! I hate the fingerprint magnet surfaces! Tech21 are supposed to be VERY protective. I had a pink one on my Note 3 and dropped it a few times. Never any damage but the falls weren't too high or on cement.

It's also very easy to remove from the phone when needed. Like when I want to put it on my new wireless charger in my new car :-)

The black case was all they had....I may have to look into the clear one. I sometimes have a litte trouble getting the pen out though

I have a symmetry case on mine, to me it has plenty of protection, as I work in a lumber yard and around forklifts all day long it has fallen from bout 3-4 feet and nothing has happen. Hope this helped out a bit

I 've bought a few cases from ebay ( Slim Hybrid Armor Hard Shockproof Impact Case & Luxury Aluminum Ultra-thin Mirror Metal Case Cover) and amazon (Yoozon TPU Case & Verus [High Pro Shield][Crimson Red].

DSC_0227.jpgDSC_0230.jpg

Slim Hybrid Armor - gives protection but the rubberized parts are just too rigid for me, and it takes a good strong press(from me) to get responses from the power and volume buttons. This was the case I used everyday until I bought the Verus case.

Luxury Aluminum Ultra-thin Mirror Metal Case - this case came a little roughed up and I received a refund of some of the cost and kept the phone. the back if a fingerprint magnet, but I don't use it often enough for that t bother me.

Verus [High Pro Shield][Crimson Red] - This is my favorite of the bunch. I've only had this for a few days and it's now what I use daily. It does not add much bulk to the phone and evens adds a little bit of weight, which I like. The textured back makes it a lot easier for me to hold and operate the phone with one hand. The top and bottom portions of the back gets smudged a lot but it rubs off pretty easily. I'm pretty happy with this one.

Yoozon TPU Case - I haven't used this one yet, but I bought it for those times when I want to show the skin on the back of the phone. It's a very thin and flexible case with caps to cover the headphone jack and charging port. I don't think it will provide any sort of protection should the phone fall. I do think it's a really good case if you want to showcase the phone.

If any of you are thinking about getting the Otterbox Defender case, just beware that the screen protector that comes with the case takes away the touch sensitivity of the screen so you'll have to press harder to register screen presses or sometimes twice.

I don't have a problem at all with touch sensitivity on my Note 4. I've always used the OB Defender on all my smart phones over the years. The one on my Note 4 is a knock off or more likely a factory second as the rubber doesn't aline presisely with the inner shell around the lens and flash. I got it at a flea market for $10. It's identical to the genuine OB except there is no logo. The holster it came with has the logo. I don't give a rats *ss about the bulk as I want the best protection I can get from dropping it. The Note, in and of itself is bulky anyway. A better screen protector might be a good idea though.

I life that clear case that covers some of the ports. I bought separate port covers.

PS: If anyone would like to do a review of a Poetic Case, email their PR team (they emailed me today). They are asking for people to review the new "Revolution series" for the SGN5. It seems to have the protection of an Otterbox...
