I'm looking for a good wallet case, hoping to find one that is not too bulky but still has nice slots/pockets and some space for several credit cards.

I had a cheap wallet case several years ago on one of my older devices and I didn't like it at all.
Do you use wallet cases? what would you recommend?

For now I'm considering the Maxboost Note 8 Wallet Case or the Abacus24-7 Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Case, Leather Wallet with Flip Cover but can't decide.

This is the Abacus24-7 Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Case.

I use an iPulse leather wallet case for my S8, and have since ordered a new one for the Note 8. Bulk isn't an issue, it's pretty sturdy, and it's genuine leather. $30 on Amazon

I am a big advocate of wallet/folio cases. Sadly, the best one IMO on the market (Otterbox Strada) doesn't appear to be coming out for the Note8.

Some other options. These are ones with a slimmer profile

Tech21 Evo Wallet Case (plastic, not magnetic, closure).

Spigen Wallet S Case w/ kickstand feature (magnetic closure)

Samsung also released a few different types of wallet style cases.

I'm not a huge fan of wallet type cases but that Tech21 case you linked definitely looks intriguing.

Keep an eye out for Burnley Case and their Note 8 wallet case. They make one for the S8+ That works great and looks terrific. I have one for my iPhone 7 Plus as well.

Yeah, it's a solid offering for sure. My one criticism about the case is that they recently ditched the magnetic closure and opted for a plastic one instead.

Still a great case, but I personally prefer magnetic because it's less likely to wear out than just a plastic nub that you close by snapping into a cutout.

I really like using a wallet case, but i would like to find one with something to protect the phone screen from the cards. The one i use for my S8+, the cards have worn some lines on the phone screen.

Does the ipulse have an ear opening on the front so the actual phone function can be used with the case closed?

For my Note 5 I use this wallet case (but caught it on sale). It met all my needs (card holder, space for business cards/cash, hole for strap if need be, ear opening, and snap (not magnetic) closure. I would get it again for the Note 8, although I'll certainly take a look at options for the 8.

I use the genuine leather folio/wallet by CaseMate. My version for my S8+ is bulky but in a luxuriant way. The extra padding actually makes the phone seem smaller because it does away with the straight, hard lines and corners of the device. And no magnet or clasp. Just closes naturally. Pricey; $60.

They have less bulky and more inexpensive versions which I assume are of the same excellent quality.

Does anyone know of a wallet case where the actual case part can detach from the unit, so it can work as either just a plain case or a wallet case?

The Tech21 Evo Wallet did this for the S8, though I am not sure if the feature is included for the Note8 cases.

I say this because for the S8 version of the case, the "2 cases in 1" feature was a big part of the marketing of the case and I don't see anything about this on the product page for the Note8 version.
