Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Latest Rumors

I am using the Note 2 which I love and am ripe for an upgrade. Of course I was waiting for the Note 4, but after seeing the Note Edge, I'd like to pick one up--after playing with it and making sure that the curved 160pixel is not just a gimmick.

QUESTIONS:
What's Samsung's plan with the Edge for the US. What's the latest rumor?

What does a limited release mean for a phone? Instead of making 10 million, they'll make only 3 million? Any ideas?

Will Samsung price the phone more than $300 with contract?

Any ideas of when it might get released?

Let's use this thread for the latest info on the Edge.

TIA,

the amount of activity on Note 4 forum is much higher than the Edge forum. I guess it shows that the Note Edge isn't grabbing as much interest.

There is nothing much to say until Samsung tells us when? I read it might be X'mas. I'm sure gonna wait for Edge.

I'm intrigued by the Edge, if a little bit skeptical... I just worry about how I'm gonna hold the thing. I'll have to try it out in-store before I know if its for me. But it does look pretty cool!

They had one at my best buy. It was definitely clunky to hold. And the side panel.. Instead of what I thought would be a seemless screen, they definitely look like 2 separate screens

I would love to see a stock market ticker on the curved side

Saw it at Best Buy too and liked it more than I thought I would.

Seeing it next to the 'regular' Note 4 makes it really look like something new and special.

I had no problem holding it in my left hand, but it definitely could be a problem depending on your preferred grip.

Liked flipping through the edge screen as well.

While I was impressed, release date and price will still determine if I'd actually get it.

Played with one in Best Buy as well, and while interesting, it seemed gimmicky and unnecessary. It just felt like it made things a little more complicated.

But then again, that is only after playing with it for 5 minutes, owning one might make a huge difference once you get used to it.

I didn't know they had it on display already! Gotta go check that out at BB. .. thanks for the heads up everyone who posted about that. :)

Once I've played with one I will weigh in of course... can't wait!

Here it is at my local Best Buy. VERY awkward in my hand (right handed). Screen looked very thick tho. Not sure what the real life implications can be with the side screen but great looking device.

I hope this does not end up as some Best Buy exclusive. Buying off contract, Best Buy charges about $100 than the Verizon's full price.

I went to my local Best Buy (Mission Viejo, CA) last night to see the Edge and GN4 in person to help me make my decision. There was no Edge on display and the manager said that they are not going to get an Edge for display at all because it will be a very limited release.

I saw this article last night that echoes the same thought, although it says it will only be sold in South Korea, yet there are other US stores with displays. Don't know how reliable this source is.

How can we find out which Best Buy stores have the Edge on display? I guess by calling the local stores individually?

For those whom have played with the Edge at Best Buy.....

Can we confirm metal or no metal so we can put to rest the debate.

For those interested it looks like AT&T will have the Edge pretty soon

Samsung is probably testing the mobile market for possible uses in a curved screen device. They has this prototype on display back in 2013 I believe

Its been there since two weeks back. I've put my email address for more info but have heard nothing from AT&T.

Didn't know. That was my first time seeing it listed with the other phones I knew the email sign up was there though.

I think that's because Samsung said it was going to be a limited productivity phone probably around 1 million units, and there is no release date. I actually got to demo one today at Best Buy.
