This is driving me round the twist and I really hope there's someone out there who can help me!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 running android jellybean 4.1.2 which doesn't have a SIM card and which I only use as a camera, and wifi device.
I noticed an icon at the top left of my screen which, when I pulled it down, expanded to reveal another approx. 15 icons for, amongst others: torch, calendar, files, clock. It also had a button which said something like "disable notifications".
I'm not sure what I was thinking when I selected "off" but now the dropdown menu does not appear and I have no idea how to get it back.
I've gone through the settings several times and I can find nothing which looks as if it will restore it.
It was separate to the standard dropdown menu which contains wifi, GPS, sound, screen rotation, bluetooth etc.
Can anyone restore my menu, and my sanity?

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Jellybean forum to the Galaxy S2 forum, for more specific traffic.

It sounds like some extra feature associated with a 3rd party app you installed. Did you install anything like a file manager app, lockscreen app, or "phone cleaner"?

Ok, try uninstalling that app -- does the flashlight work afterwards?

Also, I usually recommend avoiding phone cleaner apps -- most of the time, they don't do anything that you can't already do using the system menu, and they may do things that can interfere with the normal system operation.

Phone cleaners are an outstanding source of malware. Aside from being useless.
