Samsung Galaxy S3 i747 (4.4.2) AT&T Root Help

I have been wanting to root my gs3 but i've never rooted before and i've just been doing research. i want to use towelroot but i know that it won't put a recovery for me. I need some advice on how to install one, TWRP or CWM, i just need help on getting it. Thanks.

1) Look in Settings/General/About device/Kernel. If the date is June 3, 2014 or later, Towel Root won't work. (They patched the exploit that TR uses on that date.)

2) You probably have a locked bootloader, so you can't install a custom recovery. SafeStrap may work, or it may not. (If it doesn't, you may have to reflash the 4.4.2 ROM.)
