Samsung galaxy s3 touch screen problem

The touch screen is unresponsive but if i press home button to go to home screen then only menu and back keys are working. I did a factory reset the touch screen starts working again but soon after some time it stops responding again. It starts working again when factory reset but stops again after some time. Your valuable advice is appreciated.
