I just found that with the latest update you can have the camera but your device can only be on the swipe screen. you cant have finger print or pattern etc lock

Um, not so my friend.

I use Pattern Lock and I do indeed still use the camera from the Lock Screen.

Did you ever sort this out? I noticed the same thing (and i haven't updated my phone at all - bought it outright). I've played worth settings for HOURS and you definitely can't see the camera shortcut icon when you have fingerprint or pattern security on. So annoying.

Wrong. I am on Lollipop and I use fingerprint access and have the camera on my lock screen. It works just fine, like it did with KitKat.

Well, you can say 'wrong' all you like but it doesn't make it appear for me! Hahaha. Do you have any practical suggestions? I can show you screenshots if you don't believe me.

Go into Settings > Lockscreen and put a check mark on Camera Shortcut. I don't think there is more to it than that.

Hi iv got 1 for everyone got s5 when on lock screen and you shake the phone the camera comes on?? Looked in all settings nothing... even geek squad had no idea. . Need to sort this as turning on all time in my pocket draining my battery. Can anyone help??

You must be in Australia ? I have the same issue and spoke to samsung live chat and they said "Unfortunately the Australian models of the S5 do not have the feature where you can add a camera shortcut to the Lock Screen."
This sucks, ive tried using 3rd party apps and the shortcuts still wont work!

Australian models can turn on the camera from lockscreen so long as you don't have any security
