Phone set for Swipe pattern for screen lock which was working fine. After update to 6.0.1, the phone does not ask for swipe pattern anymore, the rest of the function & apps seems to work normal. On lock screen under setting, the screen lock type is now "Swipe" - I try to change this type (thinking of using fingerprint instead) and S6 asked for PIN, upon entering PIN, it gave me "Unfortunately, Settings has Stopped" error. I accessed other of my apps & none gave this error. I have cleared cache but does not resolve this issue.

Welcome to Android Central! Moved from the Marshmallow forum to the S6 forum, since this is probably more of a device-specific issue, rather than a general Marshmallow one.

When you say you cleared cache, you mean the system cache partition, right?

Problem still persists in Safe Mode.

Factory reset will reset will clear off everything including my sms, messages & other data & I need to configure everything again? Any other way since the issue seems to be limited to screen lock?
