Samsung galaxy s7 camera only records audio on right side

[Android Central Question]

On my samsung galaxy s7, I've noticed that when I record videos using the camera and then watch them while wearing headphones, all the recorded audio only comes out through the right earbud. This isn't a problem with my headphones because this only happens with videos I record myself and only on the default camera app, which is weird.

When I use snapchat to record videos I don't have this problem, I can hear the audio from both earbuds. I also do not have this problem when using the voice recorder, when listening to music or when watching youtube videos, it's literally just when I record videos using the camera.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this it would be a huge help thanks.

I just tried checking in safe mode and the same thing happens. Also, after a few more tests I noticed from the left earbud I can actually hear some audio but it's just extremely quiet compared to the right earbud, i have to turn the volume high to hear any of it

The left stereo channel would be the secondary mic at the top of the phone. Inspect that mic opening carefully and make sure it isn't clogged with lint, or blocked by a case.

I just scraped quite a bit of dirt out of the left mic opening using a pin and recorded a test video, it worked! I can hear the audio clearly now from the left. I'd have never considered the mic being clogged being the cause of the problem, thanks so much!
