Samsung GALAXY S7 Edge: micro scratch after 4 days, what to do now?

Anything can happen so it is hard to say. There really isn't much help we can provide. You can try and get an exchange if you want but that is really up to where you bought it from.

contact the seller and if they wont exchange or fix then I would just buy insurance some where and use it and later put in a claim if and when it comes time.

If you do not have insurance before the damage is done you cannot buy it after and have the damage covered. If you file a claim for damage before insurance bought it is insurance fraud, plain and simple. You cannot buy auto insurance and have it cover your car the week before you bought it. Same thing applies. Do people get away with it? Yes, still illegal and it raises the costs of phones and insurance for the people who do not defraud the system. Again, plain and simple.

I'll just put on a screen protector and get over it somehow, but i really got curious now, so i'd get away with getting a new phone just by buying some insurance and blaming the seller? Sounds like insurance could solve lot of problems nowadays

yes oks10 i'll get a screen protector, but still man, wouldn't you be pissed if your phone arrived with a small micro scratch yes i know its not something to make a big deal of, but still this phone is quite expensive now, samsungs flagship...

If you know for certain it arrived scratched, then yeah you should definitely be upset but you made it sound like you weren't certain. My phone got a faint scratch just from putting in my pocket though, so I just bought a protector in the thought that the adhesive would somewhat hide it.

Well, I am 99.9% sure I didnt sratch it during my first 4 days of use. I'm more or less over it anyway, I learned a lesson. Next time I'll buy a screen protector before I buy a phone.

You can usually buy insurance for additional fee per month through your carrier.

We pay like $11 a month per phone for phone insurance with Verizon. I'm currently using it to replace my wife's S7 that she managed to shatter the screen on... I'm only out $100 (once the dang things are off backorder...) instead of the full cost of either buying a new phone or getting this one fixed.

Yeah, I don't think I have an option for insurance, the only thing I have is warranty, today I've put on the screen protector, its fits great, and I don't see the scratch at all, so I am not bothered anymore, the thing what concerns me now is that the screen protector on the device isn't stable.

For example, I have a spiegen crystal shell case, at first I had a problem with huge air bubbles forming on the edges once put. Once I managed to put the case on without getting any air bubbles, I noticed that I can still easily get air bubbles if I hold the phone tighter.

So my guess is that the edges do not stick well. Anything to do with this situation, any special adhesive for screen protectors or something similar?

What protector did you use? I used the Spigen curved crystal protector. It definitely wasn't as simple as installing a protector on a flat phone but I did manage to get the edges to stay down. It took a bit of work but was worth it IMO. Be sure that before you install the protector that you get ALL the dirt and dust out of the crease between the edge of the screen and the frame. That screwed up me up on the first protector, luckily it comes in a 2 pack. After those edges are clean, I applied the protector following their directions and got the main (flat) portion of the screen bubble and lent free. For the edges I just kept rubbing my thumb across the air bubbles until they quit lifting easily. I took the approach that the heat from that would help aid in the adhesive bonding with the screen. I probably did this for about 10 minutes per side, going back and forth between each side. I did it until the major air bubbles stopped coming back. When I stopped there was still a slight gap at the very edge of the protector but I gave up, put my phone on my night stand and charged it over night. The next day I went caseless and left the phone in my pocket most of the day. Somehow those sequence of events got out the rest of the air gaps and when I got home that evening I put my Otterbox Symmetry back on and there was zero lifting on the edges. Sorry for the long winded post but hopefully it helps.

My tips:
-Do this at a clean area. I used the granite counter top of my kitchen counter. Even then I still had to use the dust remover stickers that were provided.
-The top film is deceptive at making you think you're peeling off the actually protector when you're actually just peeling off the film.
-The Spigen protect (at least mine) had the pull tabs on the top and bottom film on the wrong side of the phone... So pay attention to which side you use to hinge with the stickers provided. If you get the spigen protector you'll know what I'm talking about.
-Be patient, don't stress. It's only a screen protector and if you screw up the first time remember it's not the end of the world.
-Give it time to bond before putting the case back on since some of these cases grip at the same place the protector stops.

I signed up with the samsung protection plan. $129+ I think $76 per claim. It looks like you can sign up within your year warranty and only if you have certain carriers, att, t-moble and some others. just go to their website and you can find it.

I have no idea, I went to the shop where they had screen protectors for S7 edge, only this shop in the city had these :-\ I payed it €5 , its probably some chinese knockoff, it's just temporary, I'll get a branded screen protector, which I'll have to order from eBay and wait a week or two.
So I'd really not like it to be something that I'd be disapointed with. Currently I'm looking at 5 screen protectors for just £6 including shipping. But I would probably be disapointed with those.

As for the current screen protector, the feel is great, not too much of a plasticky feel, more like a touch on a warm glass. And the transparency is really good, no plastic reflections, you can hardly tell the screen protector that it's on.

They installed it in the shop for me, so the flat screen is 100% bubble free, but the edges cause a nightmare, there's no dust or anything that could cause edges not to stick, it just doesnt stick, like it lacks adhesive or something, I didn't give it time to bond though, maybe there I made a mistake...
So if spiegen or some branded screen protector would make difference, like stick better on edges, I'd buy it!

Oh and I probably would have to buy somekind of screen cleaner? I saw they used it in shop today

Edit: Now the phone is in it's case, with the screen protector on, when I touch the volume buttons, edges lift quite a lot, but are easily put back down, it obviously didn't stick well. Funny that when touching power button, not much lifting happens, maybe none at all, but I can confirm that edges are not completely sticked, especially the left side.
