Samsung Galaxy S7 Rumors

Re: Samsung Galaxy S7 Screen Size - Go Big or Go Home?

Because on the note 5, they made the screen narrower and did away with the IR blaster.

Ah I see. I keep forgetting about the IR blaster. Never used it personally. I can see why people like it though.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S7

So, this was posted via Wall Street Journal/ArsTechnica: WSJ: Samsung Galaxy S7 to have pressure-sensitive display, microSD slot | Ars Technica

Hope the rumors hold. Particularly the microSD part; that's a major reason I fell off the bandwagon.

Even more so, the Note 5 (I tend to go for the phablet phone if I can manage) was just really disappointing. Sure, it's a powerful phone, with great hardware and so on and so forth, but as a "power user" phone? If that phone didn't have the S Pen, I don't see why you would even pick it up over the S6. And even then... many carriers didn't get the >32GB model. Some locations didn't even get the Note 5 at all. I don't think Samsung really gave it their all this go-round. I'm not a fan of everything that was done with the S6 but I do recognize that it was a major change from the previous Galaxy S-line phones.

The rumored S7 sounds like the "iPhone 6S" of Samsung phones, which isn't a bad thing. Really sounds like the core "S" phone will be a better pick than the Edge next time around as well. And since it will likely have Marshmallow, I'd like to see how Samsung TouchWizzes all over that version of Android.

I'm interested to hear what you think Samsung could possibly add to the phones right now? I honestly thing we've reached the point where there really isn't a whole lot more hardware tech you can jam into a metal/glass rectangle. Maybe better (dual) speakers. GLONASS sensor to improve GPS like Garmin puts in their watches?

Obviously they aren't interested in ergonomics whatsoever. Making phones thinner, but larger in footprint so they are impossible to hold. And at the expense of battery size, which is the one thing users complain about the most. I haven't heard a single person in real life say "damn, 6.8mm is way too thick, I wish this phone was thinner". No, they just ***** about the battery life. But clearly Samsung and Apple aren't listening, they are just in a thin phone war that will definitely result in more bent phones.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S7

I would like to see better battery life and better sound speakers, so a person can hear a song with out using ear buds and micro sd card back. Can't wait to try one out and hear others comments on it in a few months.

You'll need to remove the space before the .net as it isn't allowing me to paste the link....

Would be great if price is what this article mentioned.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S7

I have the S6, but will likely get the note6 when it comes, i can upgrade in oct 2016 , so that will be perfect for the note6.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S7 Screen Size - Go Big or Go Home?

Article that came out today has someone claiming it will be offered in 5.1", 5.5", and 5.7"

I would be going for the 6".

I can't post links yet.

The base Samsung Galaxy S7 will have a flat 5.1" screen, no curved option. The Galaxy S7 edge will have a bigger 5.5" screen and there won't be a flat-screened S7 of that size. The big-screened device, the Galaxy S7+, will have a 6" screen and will be the only one to have two screen options.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S7 Screen Size - Go Big or Go Home?

4.7 - 5 would be nice. Love my alpha size. Would just like the new features.

Looks like Samsung has recognized that it has real competition with the V10. A recent report said that LG sold 450k V10s in 45 days. Probably stealing Samsung's customers

Samsung is bringing back a lot of features in 2016 that cause people to leave in 2015 and go from Samsung to LG:
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will feature microSD, water resistance, and larger batteries | VentureBeat | Mobile | by Evan Blass

MicroSD, bigger battery up to 3600 mAh (still sealed), and an always on display. It's also adding waterproof that was on the S5.
My thoughts are they are keeping battery sealed for wireless charging. I prefer removable batteries to wireless charging.

Until Samsung adds all the previous features including removable battery back AND IR blaster, I won't even consider them. I'm sure that LG will have an improved follow-up to the V10. Hopefully improved battery life.

Competition is good! 👍 It's cool to see the S7 specs as well bringing back a lot of features that V10 buyers wanted.

Re: Samsung's response to the V10

Samsung upgraded my Galaxy S3 right into the ground.

Never again, Samsung. Never again.

Re: Samsung's response to the V10

Too late in my opinion and sealed battery!?! .....no thanks!! I want to see what all the Samsung apologists have to say about that archaic SD card slot being brought back. It's probably not archaic now that they're bringing it back.

Re: Samsung's response to the V10

I still don't like the metal/glass design, to slippery. The V10 has more of a grip to it. And yep, still like my removable battery and SD card.

Re: Samsung's response to the V10

Sealed helps with waterproofing to be fair, but yeah you can still get water resistance to a point with removable backs.

Re: Samsung's response to the V10

My problem with Samsung has more to do with TouchWiz than those features. I have a 200gb microsd card that LG sent me and I haven't really used it. I don't know what all of you folks are using them for. I don't think that people stopped buying the Samsung phones due to those missing features.

Re: Samsung's response to the V10

I was going to buy a Note 4 but am on Verizon. I have heard that the battery life ran into the ground and the radio reception dropped off when upgraded from KitKat to Lollipop. Verizon being Verizon, will most likely leave the consumers sitting there with a bad upgrade, no way to roll back, and no promise of upgrade with fixes to Marshmallow. So I have joined you all and am awaiting my V10 that is in the mail. I went to the Verizon store to run my fingers through a few strokes, do a hand feel, etc on their display model. Nice...

Re: Samsung's response to the V10

I was a big samsung fan. I still have my note 4 which is Still an awesome device. When their new phones came out, I got a S6 edge. What a letdown. Talk about disappointments. Its ok but no v10. I absolutely love my v10. And you know, I Can't see myself going back to samsung. Lg proved to me that they care about their customers to build such a wonderful device that incorporates everything that one wants in a smartphone. Good going lg. Keep it up.

No expandable memory, sealed battery and low on board memory made me look at V10...Then I liked what I saw and got it.

I only got the 64 gb men card promo. I chopped 16gb already with videos and music

Re: Samsung's response to the V10

Personally, I don't really think the S7 specs are a reaction to any other phone, let alone the V10. I think it is more of a reaction to the poor sales numbers Sammy saw upon releasing the S6 and Note 5 variants. Either way, I'm happy to see Sammy bringing back features and moving to larger batteries.
