Re: Samsung galaxy S7

glass, a small battery and touch wiz, which unfortunately is as far down on the spec sheet I need to go before reaching a decision!

Re: Samsung galaxy S7

It's so early...I think it would be reasonable to expect TouchWiz to be even less of a drag on performance as well as bloat ware being allowed to be uninstalled. I would expect some of the specs from the Note 5 in terms of hardware but not the stylus or size like wireless fast charging, faster chipset and more RAM with better RAM management. more improvements to the camera. It's all speculation at this point but I doubt you'll see a device with a card slot and a 4000mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Screen Size - Go Big or Go Home?

Rumors of 5.2" to 5.8". How big is too big for the Galaxy S7? Prefer it at 5.2" at best.

Re: Samsung galaxy S7

I think it would be interesting if Samsung offered the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and S7 Edge + at the same time next year but we may just keep seeing the two smaller models in the 5.2" range. I really don't know what else a phone can get year over year that is actually worthy of replacing last years phone. I have no doubt apple cranked out lots of phones and extended the pre-order time slot to make it appear they did even better. Samsung offered the best in class phone this year with the S6 and if Motorola can put both a SIM and MicroSD into a single slot so can Samsung and remove that micorSD complaint.

If the S7 went to 5.8" then what is the point of the Note line, just the S-Pen so I think the S7 would be more 5.3 or go edge to edge display.

Keep the screen size the same and focus on other specs and performance improvements. Sweet spot is 5.1" or 5.2".

It would also be great if the minimum is 64GB storage with more reasonable pricing at each storage level.

I totally agree with this point. especially with VZ no longer subsidizing phones, and the mid range market becoming increasingly competitive.

Re: Samsung galaxy S7

I just want a bigger battery... Even the Samsung tech support people I spoke to said it probably wasn't a good idea to put such a small battery in a phone with QHD "even though the phone is supposed to optimise the battery life" or some such thing

Re: Samsung Galaxy S7 Screen Size - Go Big or Go Home?

If they don't keep the smaller size that might be enough for me not to get it. I have a disability in my hands and using a big sized screen gives me my muscle strain in my hands

Re: Samsung galaxy S7

Have a feeling that it is a safe bet that the battery will be larger. However, if the Snapdragon 820 is more energy efficient and the display is also. Maybe just a 3000mAh battery is enough.

Re: Samsung galaxy S7

Yeah, I'd be happy with a bigger battery. Between that and quick charge 3.0, we should be set. I'd also like to see USB C, but only if it's compatible with Quick charge. Add in 4gb of ram and make whatever tweaks they can to the camera and I'll buy it on Day 1.

efficient to their standards, I agree. OEMs seem comfortable with leaving battery life where they are as far as duration. they advertise battery efficiency, which technically it's correct, but that extra mAh every year is simply enough to power upgrades, so we don't experience better battery life.

what I don't get is why they consider quick charge to be a resolution. it's great, and will usually help, but sometimes you just need a bigger battery. since we know nothing about the device, I won't use mAh, but I hope they increase average SOT by an hour at least.

also the consistency and a MUCH better out of box experience. amazing how much SOT varied from user to user, and for many of those that were initially getting 6 hours, all the effort that went into that.

Though I wouldn't be thrilled with such a much larger size, it would simplify their production process and reduce costs in streamlining their product offerings.

Well I hope there will be glass, don't want a plastic screen. Nothing wrong with TouchWiz.

TouchWiz could be slimmed down more.
