AC Question

I'm having a problem with connecting usb devices to my phone. This has now happened with two different devices. I blamed the first one on the device, a cheap borescope camera, but now it's happened again, this time with an SDR (radio receiver) dongle.

The problem is the device works flawlessly the first time I connect it. The camera worked for about an hour with no problems at all. I unplugged it, then tried again the next morning and the phone would not recognize the device. No error codes or anything, just nothing happened when I connected it, and the app said no camera was connected. I tried connecting it to another phone and got nothing there either, so I figured the cheap pos was defective and sent it back for a refund (which I never received, either)

Today, I just received an SRD dongle I bought on Amazon. SRD is Software Defined Radio and is basically a radio receiver for a computer. Using a USB otg adapter and an app from the play store, I connected it to my phone and it works perfectly. I got it to use a spectrum analyzer for my ham radio work. Unfortunately, I disconnected it for a while and now, just like with the camera before, nothing happens when I connect the radio to the USB port. I start the radio app and it says there are no supported devices connected.

Anyone have an idea what's going on here? I can believe one to be a defective device, but two different devices from two different manufacturers having the exact same problem tells me it's a problem with my phone instead.
