Android Central Question

When trying to update this message pops "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available".

I did experiment with android operational system versions, but it was a long time ago, so I could not tell what exactly I did.

Right now it's running 4.1.2 version.

I already did some research, so I tell what I have already tried:

Resetting factory settings;

wiping cache partition;

updating while in safe mode;

unrooting it with several apps, but all of them say the device is not rooted;

there can't be any issues caused by SD card, because I don't own one on this device.

I would really appreciate your help :)

Honestly - that device won't update to an Android version of any worth as far as continued app support. Google has stopped supporting Android versions several years newer than that device currently has on it. I wouldn't put in a ton of effort on that tablet.

From what I'm seeing, that Android version was the last official update from Samsung anyway.

Thanks for your answer.

That's too bad, because tablet works really well, but I can not run most programs, because of an old version.

Do I have any options? For example is there any way to run at least Kindle reading app?

You could explore options in rooting and installing a custom ROM, but that is not without risk. The food at XDA would have more experience with that process.
