"Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1" flickering screen and rapid battery drain

[Android Central Question]

I have a "Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1" (16gb) that often, but not always, has a flickering screen followed by a very rapid battery drain then shutdown or, on occasion, a reboot. This does not happen while it is connected to a power source. I have read multiple forums on this, with differing solutions, so not sure what it is. As a side note, on storage, it shows the device storage at having only 1.6 gb of available space, and I have very few apps on it, so not sure if this adefects anything.

That may be a hardware or battery fault. Back up while you still can. We can advise how best to do that if you wish.

Sounds to me like the battery is developing a dendrite (Lithium Battery Dendrite links if you're interested). The only fix is a new battery. And, as belodion said, if you're not already backed up (you should always be - there's no backing up if you drop the phone and a car rides over it), Backing up an Android Device is one way.

I've been posting this on several threads: There are masked videos running in the background of legitimate banner ads on "Cheetah" apps. My battery was losing 80% of its charge overnight.
