Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 - Wifi Problems?

I agree. I uninstalled the SideSync updates and no more problems. I can live with that. Samsung is lazy though and isn't addressing this issue. When I first complained of it, they told me to do a factory reset and if that didn't work to send it in for repair... clearly a software issue, NOT hardware. They need to recognize this problem and fix it!

I have not experienced that issue. I also have the Samsung Keyboard cover. Both in use and now have added a Microsoft BT mouse and still no issues.

The issue only occurs when Sidesync is running, with remote notifications enabled on the phone.
If you turn off bluetooth on phone (or move phone out of bluetooth range), then wifi performance on tablet degrades significantly, even if the phone and tablet are not connected (i.e., phone screen not displayed on tablet).

I had the same problem and was taking the Tab S back until I read this thread, Simple fix is the unistall Sidesync, No more problems

I have had the same speed drop problem with my Tab S 10.5 on my Wi-Fi network (speed drops from 72mbps to .01mbps) with Bluetooth enabled (but only after Sidesync was used).

It seems the speed drop is not caused by Bluetooth by it's self being enabled but occurs only after using Sidesync. The slow speed on my Wi-Fi with Bluetooth remains slow until I clear data for Sidesync. I go into my Applications Manager (All) and select Sidesync and Clear Data and Force Stop then my Tab S will run at 72mbps on my Wi-Fi with Bluetooth enabled.

This is not a good situation but at least I know how to clear it (Sidesync) and use my Bluetooth on my Wi-Fi at 72mbps.

Note: Before understanding what was causing the slow speed issue with Bluetooth enabled I returned a Logitech keyboard / cover to the store.

Have been experiencing the same wifi dropout issues over the past few weeks and seemed to be getting worse. Thanks to this thread, I've now deleted all updates to side sync and force stopped the app and the wifi connectivity has worked flawlessly since. Thanks for the suggestion b4 i returned the tab to place of purhase and looked foolish. Chers all.

Yes, without question. My brand new Tab S will not work (wifi connection) with the Samsung bluetooth keybord sinced. I've tested every scenario, has nothing to do with Side Sinc. Will return the device in a few days if Samsung doesn't step up.

I disabled sidesync but am still unable to connect to wifi, 4 other devices in the house are able to connect except my Tab S and my Note Edge, is this a Galaxy issue?? Yes it is - after my first happy annoncement how fine it works after I kicked out SideSync - I found out that the wifi speed is very slow if im more that 1 meter away from the router (D-Link 810L) I have ordre a Linksys EA6700 and hope that can improve the speed - but I guess that Samsungs Tab is born slow and notthing can chance that.

I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition and have this problem. I bought a BT headset a few months ago. When I play Youtube at night, the internet would cut out. I just did a FDR yesterday thinking that it might solve the problem. It did not. In the meantime, I find out that I lost all of my S-Note Notes, which p__es me off. Now I lose my notes from work and the BT/Wifi issue still exists. On top of that, when I read the posts here, everyone seems to think Sidesync is the culprit. Well Sidesync is not even installed on my tablet.

FYI..this problem occurs both at home on my network and at work on their network.

I have now chanced my router to the Linksys EA6700 and less than a feet away I can hardly get 2 bars - my HTC One M8 gives me 4 bars all over the flat.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 have some serious issues

Just bought an S4 7" and low and behold it was dropping the WiFi constantly. Worked with Tech on chat support line and I was able to make the device more "stable" by assigning a Static IP address AND changing the time zone to something else and then back again.

Apparently there is a bug in how Samsung is handling DHCP assigned address.

Since Im using my tablet all over and therefore accessing the internet from diff. providers its impossible to use fixed IP.

The whole idea about a tablet is lost if you only can use in your home.

So Samsung better find a better solution

I have now chanced my router to a Linksys EA6900

I have Static IP on my router

I have used the WiFi scanner to find a area on 2.4 and 5 GHz where there´s no traffic

But still I can only get max. 2 bars on my Samsung tablet - On my HTC its max out.

Did you check if you have Sidesync running on the tablet? Is your Bluetooth on? I defunct and Bluetooth cause Wifi connectivity to drop. After dealing with this issue for 2 months I sold it on eBay and got IPad Air 2 yesterday. Samsung needs to get it together and fix issues with this tablet. It's laggy as he'll too.

Damn this sucks. I was moments from hitting the order button when I decided to check out this Touch Wiz iPad users are laughing about only to stumble to this thread. I have 2 routers - 2Wire from AT&T Uverse and a Netgear AC1900 Nighthawk. I also used an ASUS extender to boost the signal to other parts of the house. I wonder if I should take a stab at this? I looked at the Air 2, but to even get close to the 32GB w/128 GB sd that the Samsung offers, I'd have to pony up an extra $55 for just the 64GB version which is equivalent to adding a 32GB SD card to the Tab S.

Yes it does ;)

I cant advice you Im not a Apple-man So I never go down that road - but the wifi on Samsung stinks!!

1-2 bars sometimes 3 - but thats like Xmas only once every year.

My tab s 10 inch cannot find the wireless at all. I stopped every thing Bluetooth, side sync set up static ip restore to factory settings nothing works. Hopefully this will be a software problem not a hardware one .if someone find out how to solve this please spread the news.
