Samsung gear s3 compatibility with Xperia m5

I would want to buy Samsung gear s3, I only dont know whether it will work with my device Sony Xperia m5.

@11B1P, it might actually require greater than 1.5 GB RAM, as mentioned here: Compatibility | Samsung Gear S3 - The Official Samsung Galaxy Site. I recall looking into this with another member who had a Samsung phone with 1.5 GB RAM, and the phone wasn't compatible. It may be that 1.5 GB is actually not enough. But I don't have a Gear S3, so I can't say for sure.

yeah, that's why I said at least . looking at the Sony, it seems to have plenty of ram

Oh I see. My point was that others might think that 1.5 GB is enough, whereas it actually has to be more than that (i.e., 2 GB and above). They should've made the wording less confusing on the Samsung site, because I've seen other sites and reviews that seem to think 1.5 GB is enough.

While there are some Android phones that are not compatible with Gear Manager, memory may not be the issue. My S3 is paired with a Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime (SM-J series). This is a cheap, low end phone with only 1.5 GB RAM. There are plenty of sub $100 phones that will work with the S3.
