The one feature I'm really missing is being able to select multiple lock screen wallpapers at once (I had 14 at once--favorite pics of my kids). My S7 edge would cycle through them each time I woke up my phone. I don't think I'll have the patience to change the wallpaper manually on a regular basis

That said, didn't Google include this exact feature as something *new* in Oreo?

One thing that I miss that Samsung took away was the ability for me to change the font size in the messages app independently. I don't want to change the font size for the entire phone, just my text messages.

You can change the notification sounds for texts and emails. It’s buried but see the second to last post (or the one above mine in this thread):

I use the Verizon message+ app, and can no longer change the color of the led light when I get a text. The only other thing I noticed, is when I get an email on my gmail account, the led no longer flashes. I just get the notification sound and icon on the screen.
