Samsung Installed Screen Protector? Yay or Nay?

I think I saw a video where someone took off the factory piece of "film" that is basically there only to prevent scratches and did I see wrong(??) that the film had a round cut-out where the sensor was??

If that's the case, that would be a no go for me and I'd use something else because a hole in the middle of the glass where unprotected the oleophobic coating would wear and if you ever take off the protector you will notice the difference.

I still have the original factory installed screen protector on my Note 10+. Aside from some scratches from talking on the phone with earrings on, it is in fantastic shape. I will peel it off when I have to send in my trade-in to Samsung for the Note 20 Ultra.

Here is a video showing the T-Mobile retail unboxing. No headphones,No extra s-Pen tips and just a flimsy plastic sheet on the front.

the guy replied to a comment and said these were the Demo units for the store.

Not the retail versions.

Was the factory screen protector on the S20 better than the one on the N10+ - because contrary to what a lot of folks seem to feel - I thought the one on the N10+ was horrible. It felt like it was just a film that was there to hold you off until you get a real screen protector (or remove it if you don't believe in them). It was super prone to scratching and it had a cheap feel to it when writing on it. I am not sure of the fascination that so many people had with it.

Last year, since the Whitestone Dome came a week or two after the N10+, I was thankful for it to hold me over until I put something real on the screen - but boy, was I happy to get that off the phone.

The pre installed protector I kept on my Note 10 plus until it started to wear and removed it and applied a different one. I was never able to find a screen protector of glass to replace it with. I hope to do the same with my Note 20

The one that comes on the S 20 is REALLY good. I've never ever kept a film on before until now. It's still on right now in fact.

Are the phones made in different plants ?

I have no problem with mine on my Note 10+ makes me wonder of one plant might have a lesser quality protect than another

Yes, the factory installed one that comes on the S20 Ultra is real good and still on my phone since launch day.
Same, I have a couple replacement screen protectors just in case. But the factory installed one is great since March.

If it does, I'm peeling that thing off with a loud "RAH" and putting my Whitestone Dome Glass on it immediately.

How hard are they to put on? I feel like I may have to go that route soon... I just bought my fourth screen protector for my S10.

I like that Samsung at least thought about putting a screen protector. In my experience however, it does scratch pretty easily.

Not hard at all as long as in my opinion you watch the video on their website.

Allow plenty of time to fit it.

Have a level surface or the pool of adhesive runs the risk of going off to one side or worse down off the edge of the phone.

Be patient.

Allow plenty of time ( yeah I know I'm repeating myself ! Lol )

Fitted quite a few of the Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protectors without issue.

Stay Safe.

They aren't hard to put on...as long as you follow the instructions. A lot of people don't follow the instructions (they have a video on how to do it as well) and they mess it up and blame it on Whitestone. Their instructions are pretty easy and straight-forward, as long as you pay attention to each step!

Most important thing to consider and remember: make sure you install it on a perfectly level surface. Otherwise, the adhesive will run all over the place.

Same. It honestly looked like the plastic you peel off the back. I removed that crap right away.

Preinstalled, yea I peel it off after unboxing. Tried last year to keep it on, felt like crap, so after a week or two it was gone.
