Android Central Question

My homepage is google on Samsung Internet App and shows a series of news articles on my Samsung Galaxy A52 5g. Normally, when I selected a link, it would open the link in the current tab. Now it just opens the link at the bottom of the same page I'm on below the news articles instead of going to the link page.

I have to manually tell it to always open the link in a new tab if I want a new one rather than just selecting the link.

How do I fix this?

I am having the same problem. From google news feed page, Browser opens news links at bottom of current page. It does this with about half of news links, others open normally. Problem began recently. Worked correctly until then.

Is there a solution to this?

Thanks

Eric

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about this kind of behavior?

I've been seeing this on my Pixel 7 Pro in the Google Search app (but oddly, not on my Galaxy A32 5G). You can drag the top of the window up to make it fullscreen, if that's what's bugging you.

Which Samsung device you have?

I am on a Galaxy S8, all stock running Samsung internet.

As I say, when I open the Samsung browser, I get a page of news article teasers. For a year, when I clicked on an article, it would open on the page displayed. When I went "back", it went back to the page of teasers.

Now when I click on an article, it might (50%) open at the bottom of the page. I have to scroll to the bottom to read the article. When I go "back" it closes the article and returns me to where I was on the "teaser" page.

About 50% of the articles open (and close) "normally", that is as it originally worked.

Any thoughts?

Eric

So to be clear, about 50% of articles still open "normally", displayed fully on the screen, as they always did, while about 50% open at the bottom of the "teaser" page and I have to scroll down to them.
