samsung j4 turning on and off

[Android Central Question]

my samsung j4 keeps popping on and off only when I plug it into a power source. “An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the Smartswitch PC Software” when I remove it from the power source, it stays off and wont turn on. is my battery now bad?

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean by "popping on and off"? Do you mean that error message pops up? Or do you mean the phone powers on and off?
