Samsung J5 why am I getting identical IMs when receiving texts ?

[AC Question]

I have a Samsung J5
When someone sends me a text message, why am I also receiving an identical instant message also. I am currently having to 'open & read' both the Text and IM apps to get rid of the notification alert on both apps.
