Samsung keyboard much better than google one on note 3

i just need a more convenient comma button and i'll be golden..long press period to get to a comma is stupid..Or hitting Sym to get to comma is stupid as well..Other than that it is awesome

This is exactly my issue. This is why I always go back to Swype with Dragon

Does the Samsung keyboard allow auto correct with the spacebar? I love that on the Google keyboard. I don't think the Samsung keyboard on the note 2 did that.

Yes. Funny how in the S1 there used to be a comma button on the left side of the space button. Dunno why they had to change it . Anyway, I think the SYM button works better than the long press, select press and hide press -combo of that stupid dot button.

Must be somewhere in settings. Has to be. I don't have them at all. I think check in your settings and try to see there.

I have swift and I actually like the Samsung note 3 better. The only cool thing with the swift is the themeing

I've wanted to like other keyboards, but no matter how many I try, I always end up with my favorite, Swype with Dragon. I find the method for punctuation is second to none. Swiping from the question mark our exclamation point to the space bar is instantaneous. No hitting a button and waiting for punctuation. Again that's not to hate on the others, I just can't find one I like better.

Agreed. I spent some time using the Samsung keyboard on the N3 when I first got it and was impressed, it's a solid keyboard but in the end I found I like Swype the best. I've used Swift key too but IMHO, for me, Swype rules all. The shortcuts it has (like ? and ! as described above) are awesome. But again the Samsung keyboard on the N3 is, to quote Larry David, "pret-teeee, pre-teeeee, pret-teeeeee good!"

This is a good trend I've been seeing from not just Samsung, but several OEMS this year. Better keyboards, photo galleries, dialer, sms, and other 'core' apps than the stock Google offerings. I'm also seeing them get away from the gimmick features and more actually good and useful features. Let's hope it continues
