Hi Jesus,Samsung keyboard does have the arrows and ability to highlight. It's called "Text Editing" it's been existing since a long time ago View attachment 302538
True, we did change this thread to a discussion of other keyboards--in my quest to find foward and backward nondestructive arrow keys. That's probably my fault.
However, I posed the question because the Samsung Galaxy android 9 UI 1.1 keyboard update did not include them on the top level virtual keyboard as far as I could see. The keyboard settings do not have this settings to turn this feature on, as with the HTC One and some other computers that make phone calls (which is what we call a "smart phone"). FYI, I just typed two double quotes and it took 30 seconds the get context between them....
That's what folks want--the ability to navigate and correct forum text, Google widget searches, Chrome searches, field entries, etc., from the top level view. Anyone who's written code or documents finds these indespensible. Lifting fingers and using them to reposition the context caret is a productivity waste and can lead to carpel and ulnar nerve neuromas and surgeries. I've already had the latter once and might need another. :-(

Repetative impingement syndromes of the shoulder tendons drove most programmers mad when MS decided that the mouse should completely replace field tabbing formerly provided by the forward and backward keyboard buttons. We used to write and use programs while rarely having to lift fingers from the keyboard. The Windoze shortcuts helped some. But now, many of us have undergone shoulder surgeries from tendon impingements. I've had two rotator cuff repairs and one biceps tendon telocation, although playing football didn't get me to the best start....

Sorry if you think this thread got off topic. But if you can find an option for the default Samsung keyboard position, that would be great. I've already sent one of my orthopedic surgeon's kids to UNC.

Regards,
Eric
