Samsung Messages Pinning

I have a question, maybe someone has run across this. On my wifes phone, she still uses Samsung Messages, but for some reason every now and then (more often lately) certain messages keep staying on the top of her messages window even though they aren't actually pinned there and it isn't the same one all the time. A message she will be texting in comes to the top and then shes gets other messages and they will not go to the top, they will go below that other one even though it isn't pinned.

Has anyone seen this? It keeps happening more and more and I haven't found anything and don't really know how to fix it. I think maybe that app needs a clear cache or something. If I stop the Messages app and clear its cache will that delete her messages? Any thoughts?

Could it have to do with the contact? Maybe if the contact is starred, they always appear near the top?

Can start with force stop the message app , if it doesn't work then clear data and force stop

Hmm, thanks for the tips. I don't think she has any starred contacts and I'm sure she wouldn't even know how to do that. Either way it has happened with several different contact's texts and even a group text she is on so I don't think that is the issue.

So, try force stop and see what happens? Then try clear data and force stop? Is that going to remove any of her messages because I can't have that happen. Thanks.

Yeah force stop first, clear data won't delete the message as they going repopulate after doing so.

Hold down the text message in your message over view screen, there should be an option for pinning and unpinning

As I stated earlier, nothing is actually pinned. I appreciate the suggestion however.
