Samsung Messages Version 5.0.10.9

Okay, so my dad has the Galaxy S7 Active, still running nougat, but the messages app has updated to 5.0.10.9

I have a Galaxy S8 running Oreo, yet my messages app has not updated to the new one like on his S7 Active. Why is that?

Update: I was able to download version 5.0.11.9 through an apk and it works just fine. It was just bothering me that it didn't update on my S8 running Oreo, and it updated on the S7 Active running Nougat.
