Samsung moving to 4:3 aspect ratio from 16:10. Good or Bad?

Exynos 5433 Is very powerful but few apps/games take full advantage of the power of the Exynos 5433 which is a octa core.

But i agree that there Samaung flagship phones like the Samsung Galaxy S6 is more powerful then there flagship tablets which is a shame.. :/

To be honest it should the other way around....

Think of it this way the Exynos 5433 is a lot more powerful and power efficient than the Snapdragon 805 and Exynos 5420(that was in the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5).

The only CPU's that is better then Exynos 5433 is the Snapdragon 810 and the NVIDIA Tegra K1 and the Apple's A8X.
No, we pay much more for our phones and deserve the higher performance. I figure since my phone goes everywhere with me, it should be more powerful than my tablet. Also, phones get more updates so the performance should be at a higher level for future updates.

I really like the 4:3 aspect ratio...hope this trend continues

I am deeply saddend by this move personally at least in the 10" form factor. Movies, Games, and web browsing are much better in 16 x 10. I can say because I have both and I use both. At the end of the day, give the customer the choice, don't try to force us to use something that doesn't work well for our use case.

I have a tab s 10.5 from 2014 and there is literally no replacement for it from any vendor especially given the great OLED screen and high end CPU. So I use my 3 year old tablet every day, its my oldest piece of tech.

I also have a 8.4 S2 model. I admit when reading this is a better form factor but really not for anything else.

Waiting patiently for a manufacturer to listen..........

The Tab S2 has 4:3 ratio and i think it is a very good move by Samsung as 4:3 ratio is way better for stuff like web browsing, playing games, reading books, and productivity tasks(office work, Video editing) lots more.

And the 16:10 ratio is only good watching videos and not soo good for anything else.

It is AWESOME that Manufacturers like Samsung, Google are now realizing that 16:10 ratio is not good for tablets and now moving to 4:3 ratio for tablets as it is a way better ratio for tablets.

Anyway i can't wait to get my hands on one and play around with it!! :D :D :D

Plus one to all of the above and I can also add that a wider 16:10 ratio is more difficult to hold and especially to type in the landscape mode. So I see it as a very positive change.

I think samsung is copying iPad mini 4, which is also 4:3, which is another positive development.

4:3. I have my 8" S2 mounted over my stock radio and use it as my car stereo. Having a 16:10 in landscape mode would be too short to see anything. Also, why do people think 16:10 is better for movies? Because then there are no black bars? What if you're watching something that's 4:3 on a 16:10 screen? Wouldn't the bars on the side be just as bad? Do people just not watch anything that isn't widescreen? What about cinematic widescreen 2.65:1 (18:9)? There would be bars there too? What then? Using movies as the reason makes no sense to me.

I love 4:3. It fits into my cargo pants pocket perfectly

*And* it's much easier to hold than the previous 16:9 Galaxy S Pro 8.4".

I wish their Galaxy S8 phones would go towards 4:3 instead of the stupid and weird 18.5:9 standard. 6.2" screen but long and narrow.
