Samsung Note 10.1 (2014 Edition and Chromecast) Now Available

FYI. I tried to play the movies from Samsung Hub. I could not get them to play. Also since this is not the official version I can get no audio out of my tv using the mirroring feature. All the apps I have seem to work with the exception of sound. Hopefully when google releases and updated version of Chromecast that works with our device that problem will be fixed. Chromecast is less expensive than the Samsung Mirror devices. It is worth installing however if you have a Chromecast.

Thanks for posting this Raymond. I just downloaded and installed it. It's extremely buggy and unreliable at this point . It's nice to see progress and when it works well it will be really useful

I have some games on my note and they play real smooth on chromecast. However still get no sound. I have noticed that the mirroring is smooth and fast with my apps other than no sound. As a side note I have a Galaxy S3 phone and Note 8. These two devices have kit kat on them but won't mirror only my Note 10.1.

I finally got sound working. All you have to do is remove your chromecast from your tv hdmi port for about a minute with no power to chromecast and plug it back in and the sound works. Here is the direct link from google play which has been updated to latest version. This works with Note 10.1 (2014 edition). You might might want to remove earlier version before downloading the latest version.

So how do you cast something, like movie, or game, that is not part of a Chromecast app?

Edit: oh wow, got it. You have to enable screen casting in the chromecast app.

VERY COOL!

Thanks so much

PS: This works perfectly on my Galaxy S4 phone too! LOVE IT! :)
