Samsung Note 8 stopped giving sound notification when text message is received

I haven't changed any of the settings and it suddenly stopped giving the audible notification.

Make sure you have a sound set anyway - and tap it to be sure it plays. (If you find a number instead of the name of the notification sound, that's a glitch, and usually means that the texting app can't fine the file you chose, so just choose it again.)
