Samsung Note 9 No Gmail Notifications

[Android Central Question]

Since the most recent update my gmail notifications have stopped coming though even though it looks as if I have everything turned on. Only way to see if i have new email is by actually going in to the app. Very frustrating.
Also lost the edge screen health device check up. Worst update ever Samsung!
Anyone have any solutions?

I had the same issue. I just removed the email account then added it back
