Samsung Pay - Does NOT work with these Card Readers???

In my case it is. The reader's picking the card up fine and it's getting to US Bank where it's cancelled. Not declined, not denied, but cancelled. I couldn't get a cancelled message from Samsung Pay if the transaction didn't exist with them in the first place. It shows the amount in history with a line through it.

Sounds like a US Bank problem. The bank has to approve the card. You would think that the virtual number the banks give you would go around the chip. Doesn't make sense for them to allow virtual use of their cards if it doesn't work with their security.

I think retailers have the option of requiring chip cards to be inserted or swiped or either. I've been places that have the chip reader and was told "We don't have that enabled yet" and the S Pay worked fine. Then at Walmart they require a chipped card to be inserted and S Pay doesn't work. Same readers, different retailers.

I think it's more a bank thing than a retailer thing.

I have to use the chip reader at Walmart with my Cabelas visa, but my wife can still swipe her chipped Bank of America card.

You may be right and that would make more sense. Bottom line is just because the reader has a chip slot doesn't mean that S pay won't work.

One year later and this remains one of the few places where Samsung Pay doesn't work.

Got it to work just one time (about a year ago when this thread was active) but I tried again today with my S7 to no avail. I tried about 10 times. Same results. Beep. Or double beep. Even a check mark flashed on my screen briefly next to the credit card, but it didn't go through. I tried all the same methods but no luck. Same place (Kinkos) and same card machine. Again, it worked only once in probably 30 tries now. Bummer cuz it works everywhere else.

If anyone has any hot new ideas on how to do it or why I have trouble with this one, I'm all ears (eyes).
