I've been using the stock Launcher and there is a tab on the bottom I can drag up and select the card for Samsung Pay and then use my fingerprint to start it. Recently I decided to switch to Nova and realized that tab is no longer there. Is there anyway to get that to work with Nova? Without that it seems the only way to use Samsung Pay is starting the app which takes much longer to be able to pay.

Samsung pay works in mine with nova. Just swipe up from the lock screen

Can put Samsung pay home as home button
Or double tap on screen to bring it and even swipe down action can set it .
You can go in Nova settings then gestures

Same issue, won't launch from your home screen anymore....Going to email Nova, like everyone else should.

Lock screen, yes.... Not the home screen like it used to and supposed to.

I have to decide if I really want Pay available on the home screen still and if so go back to stock which does work nicely.

I've had this happen before a couple of times with Nova. I cleared the Samsung Pay app from the app switcher and opened the Samsung Pay app again. When I closed or backed out of the app the tab was at the bottom of the home screen again. I hope this helps.

My Samsung pay launches just fine from Nova launchers home screen see scree shots below. Now I will admit that I prefer to use 2 finger swipe up gesture instead because I will activate Samsung pay accidentally when trying to get into my app drawer but I only recently started using it that way and previously always had the "from home screen" option checked in SP.
Same issue here - all 3 swipe-ups enabled in SP app and swipe-up only worked on lockscreen but not homescreen (very annoying) I went into default apps in phone settings (settings -> apps -> default apps (from 3 dot menu) -> home screen) and set the default homescreen to Samsung 1 UI.. or whatever it's called and then went top my home screen. After that i went back in and changed mmt default homescreen back fo Nova and Voila! It magically came back! Hope this helps!

Just out of curiosity, do you lock your home screen settings in Nova. I don't know if that is the key but it's worth a try. I have always have mine locked.

If you are using Full Screen Gestures swipe up from the left unless you have changed that to be the back function. This lets you scroll through all of your previously used apps. Locate the Samsung Pay app and swipe so that it disappears from the list. The swipe direction depends on how you have things configured. Another option is to go into the App Drawer and long press the Samsung Pay app and select App Info. You can Force Close from there. When you open the Samsung Pay app again and exit as you normally would the tab should be at the bottom of your screen again. I've had this happen at least twice before and that's how I got it working again.
I can get it running using what bkeaver and appaloon both suggested, but if I go to recent a on the Nav bar and close them all, the Samsung Pay tab goes away also. Then I have to use one of those procedures again.
Depends on your settings for me with Nova.
If using navigation buttons, the pay shortcut shows up.
If using full screen gestures with Samsung settings, pay shortcut is gone.....
And get swipe up to hold for Google Assistant.

Yes, homescreen is locked but I found that when i close all from recent apps, it disappears just like nyvideo said

it works for me but for some reason when i use my card to pay i have to use my pin instead of the finger print scanner... kinda annoying
Noticed this when I first got my S10+. Initially I changed the gestures in Nova to be able to launch from any screen but found I was accidentally launching it quite a few times so I removed the gestures. When using Samsung Pay my phone is usually in my pocket so I just take it out and swipe up from the lock screeen, hasn't really been an inconvenience.
