Samsung Pay on Gear S3 Frontier

I recieve a notification on my phone and on my watch. But if my phone is in the car, I don't get the notification until I get back to the car and the watch pairs with the phone via Bluetooth. But the notification is over data from samsung pay or chase. You will never get a notification using mst without a data connection.

So basically I would have to bring my phone with me to receive the notification? My watch is paired with my phone via Bluetooth but as soon as I leave my apartment it's not connected via Bluetooth.

If it's a Bluetooth only model, the only way to receive feedback is through the phone.

You might be able to remotely connect through wi-fi but that's not advisable everywhere and constantly searching for a signal would kill your battery.

When I use my watch & don't have my phone with me I know the payment has gone through when the cashier tell me it went through & gives me my receipt.

I have the LTE model from AT&T.

To answer both questions, I have the att version but no service except through Bluetooth to my note 5. However I would think you could turn on Samsung pay notifications in the gear app on your paired phone and get a Samsung pay notification on the watch through att service on the gear s3 watch without the phone paired. That's how I get mine. I have Samsung pay notifications turned on in both my note 5 and gear s3. When I make a purchase with Samsung pay on my watch I get a notification on my watch immediately or shortly after if I'm paired to my phone for data service. If my phone is not there, I get the notification when it's paired again. When I use my phone with Samsung pay, I get the same quick notification. Again only if my phone has data service at the time. But I do get the notification later when data service is reestablished.
Think of it like using your regular debit card. How do you know if it went through? It prints a receipt. Then you can check online to see if it went through. But you need data service to check. When you use Samsung pay via mst it us no different than using your physical debit card. Now if you use nfc, that's a different ball game because it has two way communication with the terminal and you get a visual indicator it accepted payment. This can be done without data.

I just checked my notifications on the Samsung Gear app on my phone and it seems that I have three Samsung Pay applications. Only the Samsung Pay app notification on my watch was turned on. The second Samsung Pay app notification for the watch was/is turned off. The Samsung Pay app notification for my phone was/is turned off.

I only show two Samsung pay apps in the gear app on my phone. The square Samsung pay icon is the phone and the round one is the watch. Both mine are on an do recieve notifications on the watch. Don't know why you have 3. Wierd.

Turn on Samsung gear (plug in) notifications in the gear app. I didn't get notifications until I enabled Both!
