Samsung pay on low battery

Yesterday when I went to use my Samsung pay I only had 8% battery on the phone Samsung pay wouldn't work and I got a message stating low battery charge the watch and try again. I didn't realize there was a low battery fresh hold for Samsung pay does anyone know what that is?

Was the watch in Power Saving Mode?

If so, I believe this is not connected to Samsung Pay directly but a feature of Power Saving Mode on the watch. Power saving shuts down most of the features of the watch in the name of conserving power.
