OK, I have my S7 Edge through T-Mobile as my replacement device for the Note 7. The screen is too small so for now I have a new Nexus 6P as well that I got yesterday and it's turned into my primary phone. What I just discovered has thrilled me - I don't have to swap out my sim to use my S7Edge for Samsung Pay. All I do is create a hotspot on the 6P, connect the 7Edge to it, and Samsung Pay works great! Even redeemed my $20 visa rewards and used part of that on the edge to pay for something this afternoon .

Yup, Samsung Pay works regardless of SIM card, and even works without a data connection (at least for cards already loaded). Using on 'offline' mode, however, only works for so long IIRC; the phone will eventually need a valid data connection (mobile or WiFi) to 'renew' the token.

Will likely upgrade the S7Edge to the new S8 or Note 8 when they're available

Me too. I just really hope they come out with a 64GB version this time (and hopefully that'll be the base model).

The memory size doesn't concern me as much as the phone features, abilities, and appearance. But 64G standard would be nice.
