Okay update from Samsung. The app is legit, they confirmed it but said it's not "live" yet. They stated it will be live on October 20th and will work at that time. So looks like we wait a couple of days. I'm still going to keep trying it lol.

Thanks for dogging that. Such a bummer that we still have to wait. Weird that Samsung would release it without it being "live."

Several people on various forums are saying that they have been able to use various apk's floating around the Internet since Verizon pushed its update on Friday, so it seems strange that the official version doesn't work.

Did you go in to the updates and check for "system updates"? I had to manually check to get the update.

I think I check twice an hour! Lol. I read that it was pushing to the S6 and S6 edge now and the Note 5 and later or something like that.

Saw the 20th date mentioned in a few places. Tried changing my phone date to the 21st just to see if it allowed it to install...

Of course it didn't work but it was worth a try.

Hopefully we find a workaround soon.

Link to Samsung Pay in the play store. I downloaded it and it forced the Verizon update.

I have this installed on my S6e. When it opens I get the update failed message.

I just talked with a Verizon Chat rep, they will be providing another OTA update on 10/20 at 12 pm Eastern Time that will allow it to work. This is separate and different from the one we just received on 10/16. Oh Verizon how crappy you have become on this stuff. LOL

That's probably an update that will tack on an extra dollar charge that goes to Verizon every time you use the app. :-(

I still haven't received the first update. As much as I am dying to give Samsung Pay a try, I'm just happy that Verizon didn't drag their feet too much after confirming they would support Samsung Pay.

Guess I could be in a worse boat and not have the first one Ya they moved at a decent pace once they said they were supporting it . Still the whole thing just irks me really. I mean they knew back in April that Samsung pay was a reality. Then they knew about the beta back in August like all the other carriers, and here we are mid October before it gets done. Just bothers me a little is all lol. I will be happy though to finally get it and start putting it thru the paces. I have a tendency to leave my wallet at home or in the car

I agree with you, I was bummed about Verizon not being on the list of Samsung Pay supporters when the phone was announced but I wanted the phone and hoped that we would get it since Verizon never said no and they were still "evaluating" it.

Now that it's actually happening, I'm trying to be patient even if I am checking for an update every hour.

I noticed that the app I downloaded from the Play Store was version 1.0 so I went to apk mirror to consider sideloading. The file I downloaded from there was digitally signed by Samsung and everything matched official information (md5 hash etc) so I installed it.

It immediately worked without error and without needing to install the framework. Activated my BoA card. Just tested it at Starbucks earlier with some entertaining reaction from the employees and cashier who said they "didn't do anything like that".

Verizon S6e edge with the OTA update installed.

Where is the APK mirror? I've seen several sites hosting the apk so people can sideload, but I'm always a little nervous about that unless it's an official site. (I might try it on a general app, but I'd be wary of doing it on a site that involves my financial info.)

Same here which is why I haven't done it. Since it deals with my financial info, I'll wait. But I do find it interesting the number of users who have gotten it to work.
