Is MST suppose to show up as a connection type or does it have to be enabled somewhere on the watch?
I've paid for items using Samsung pay but in afterthought it may have been using nfc vs MST.
Thanks
Might be just that store. Try it again somewhere else. Not all terminals will work. 8 of 10 is average or 9 of 10 will work if you're lucky. If that doesn't work, delete the card, wait about 12 hours then add it again. Don't open the Gear Samsung Pay app again. There's a bug that will sometimes unregister your card when you open the app.Well I just attempted to use Samsung Pay the first time and it was a disaster. I went into the self checkout line at our local grocery store (Giant Eagle). The terminal accepted the payment (but my watch kept vibrating telling me to hold it near terminal the entire time). It then declined. I tried a 2nd time, same thing. I thought it might be the store. I had to pick up some liquor for a Christmas Party, so I went to the state store, same exact thing. The gentleman said the error said "Unable to Validate". I use PNC which is a fairly large bank in the East. I use Google Pay all the time on my phone, no issues.
Who should I call about this? PNC or Samsung?
I have the Gear S3 Frontier LTE version from AT&T and I have a question about Samsung Pay on the watch. Can I use Samsung Pay on the watch when the watch is paired/connected to my Samsung Galaxy S7? Can I use Samsung Pay on the watch when the watch is disconnected from my Samsung Galaxy S7 and is in standalone mode?
When paired, yes.
When in standalone, yes. Up to either 5 or 10 times before you need to pair it to get it to work again (I've seen both numbers.. Obviously use the 5 of you're unsure.. Will have to check whether Samsung has updated their site with info).
So far Samsung Pay on my Gear S3 Classic has been 100% success rate - McDonald's, El Pollo Loco, Nordstrom, TJ Maxx, CVS, Costco, Smart & Final, Target, Walmart, Daiso, Paris Baguette, & Arirang & H-Mart supermarkets.
I'm stupid looking anyways! I try everywhere I can reach the terminal.Have you tried Wendy's or Burger King? I went to Wendy's tonight and was going to try it but then this guy and girl came up in line behind me and I didn't want to look stupid so I didn't try it and just used my card
I try everywhere I can reach the terminal.
Thanks man!!! I appreciate it. If I'm out somewhere can I make and receive phone calls when the watch is paired/connected to my phone? If I'm out somewhere can I make and receive phone calls when the watch is disconnected from my phone and in standalone mode?
Absolutely, you can make and receive calls when not connected to your phone. It automatically switches to your LTE network, when not connected to your phone through your watch's phone number. If you want to also receive calls from your phone's number, you must forward them from your phone to your watch.
In your phone Settings, can you choose Call Forwarding? If so, can you designate the forwarding number? Use the number assigned to your watch by your carrier.I tried that but it didn't work. I disconnected the watch from my phone and put it in standalone mode. I had my friend call me and when he called me the call showed up on my phone and not the watch. Am I doing something wrong?
You have to hold it there until it registers, usual a couple of seconds. My watch is 1 for 3 on using Samsung Pay. Worked at a Starbucks, but then failed twice at another Starbucks and also at a men's wearhouse. Hmmm. Maybe I'm not holding it to the card reader long enough? I don't know. I realize there are some terminals it won't work at but I'm sad that I'm batting 1 for 3 so far.

From the comments I've seen, you might be able to use Number Sync. But I'm not sure.No I can't. There is no call forwarding option. I think that's because of NumberSync. I don't think I can designate the forwarding number. My watch has a Gear phone number though.

I would love to get in on this as well but for some reason you can't use Samsung Pay Rewards or Promotions when using the watch and Samsung Pay with a non Samsung phone
However, I did have a Dunkin Donuts girl freak out and start spinning and screaming when I paid with the watch lol![]()
