Considering that I have always had issues with MST payments for some reason, and that I hold my phone near the NFC reader to pay for transactions a fair bit with Samsung Pay, I can pretty much guarantee it auto-enables NFC.

There's nothing in that thread to validate your claim other than some "guesswork". No one has posted any official links from Samsung or other credible sources saying it works that way.

That said, I don't know how it works, I just know I don't have NFC enabled on my phone, and Samsung Pay has never failed when I used it. I also use different cards at times. Anyway if it does auto turn on NFC, cool.
