Samsung Pay Reward Points Cut in Half

SP fan but tap & pay with Android is getting a lot better and faster also works at gas pumps , my S3 watch makes SP a nice convince.

ah , was wondering , thanks for the heads-up , I've gotten plenty of good stuff , will just take longer now

Just noticed this today. It seems Samsung just cut their reward system points in HALF across all levels. Sneaky and very disappointing.

I now only get 20 points for each purchase on Platinum level vs 40 points. That sucks.View attachment 279357
Damn, I JUST noticed this, that's kinda crummy on their part to reduce the point sysytem like that!

Got a notice in the Pay app about it this morning. Damn. Oh well... It's still free money. Just less of it.

Plus as far as I know, there are no perks as in points/money earnings for Android Pay or Apple Pay. Correct me if I'm wrong but I hadn't heard of any.

Is it me or did the points also start expiring earlier this year? I don't recall any of my points ever expiring before, but notice now that they start to expire.

You would be correct, points had no experation date, now they do. I received an email recently about 3500 of my points expiring soon. Crummy

They also raised all the points needed to get a gift card too..I got a have stop $25 card last year for 5000 points now they want 6500.. Just frustrating. I know it's not about the points it's about convenience but that was always an incentive to do it.. Now it's almost to difficult to get anywhere for it to be worth it

Good thing is Samsung has offers quite often to earn lot of points for doing some specific purchases. I don't mind the reduced points, it's free after all.

Because Samsung Pay is just so convenient compared to other methods, I'd still use it.

While I wish that the promotion had stayed the same (I've cashed about $200 worth of rewards points), I think the “fine print” had said initially that it was supposed to run for a year. So, those of us who are heavy users have had a good run. I guess all good things must come to an end.
