Samsung Pay vs Android Pay -- which one are you using?

While I do like them both, Samsung Pay can be used everywhere....it is rare to find a machine that won't accept it - often to the surprise of the person at the register.

Samsung pay works on my note 8 and my gear s3 everywhere. Even when cashiers tell me oh that won't work. I politely ask if they mind if we just check. Boom!

Samsung pay exclusively. I already have enough points for a $50 rewards card.

Well since i will have 10k points for my $50 giftcard with SP guess thats my vote

I haven't figured out how to get Samsung pay to work with gas pumps or Sonic menu board readers.

Definitely Samsung Pay for me! The rewards program is nice for just using my phone to pay. With the new Note 8 once I signed in and made a purchase I received points for my first purchase on the new device.

That being said, it's not a guarantee it works everywhere, and I feel a little awkward after trying 3 or 4 times, then I give up and pull out my debit card.

Those instances aren't frequent, maybe 5% of the time. But sometimes it still makes me a little hesitant to try at a busy store.

A lot of gas pumps have tap and pay but the stations never have them active so buying gas for me is a bust

Of all the banks that Samsung keeps adding to their Samsung Pay lineup my local bank is still not one if them. Heck I wish they would add the Best Buy visa to the list and I would be happy.
BTW I just sat mine up tonight and got 500 points right away. Does anyone know what these points are for?

Sucks for those whose banks are not supported. Samsung pay is fantastic. Very easy to use. Even using it on the gear s3 is fun.

Yeah, typically anything that you have to slide your card into won't work. That's why for gas stations I go inside and pay at the cashier. There's a trick you can do at the pump where you slide in your license or like a business card to start the reader but that trick doesn't work so well.

Have you been using it long? Some places you need to run it either as Debit or as Credit. I have two gas stations it only works as Debit, whereas many places are either credit or do both. Nice getting cash back sometimes
I've been using it since May or June. It doesn't work for me at Home Depot or Lowes. The other day it seemed to work for a bit, I even got the notification in the app that it went through, but the register timed out trying to get final confirmation or something and the transaction was canceled. That was on the second attempt to get it to read, the first try it didn't even pick up the card. In my bank transaction log it shows as a payment, and a credit back to the account.

I've also run into a problem where one card won't work at a store, the physical card does but not the Samsung Pay one, but another card works fine.

It works great most places, but there are a few where I can't get it to work or even read right. I will say some places where I've had trouble it's because the cashier isn't hitting the button so the machine will read.

Anyway to use at gas pumps yet? Aside from tricking the magnetic reader. As if you're doing that, you might as well just insert your credit card.

I always go inside to pay for gas so I can use the phone. I know it's less convenient but I still earn my rewards and I just enjoy it LOL
