Samsung Pay won't update with software

I launched Samsung Pay. It went through an installation, then said it needs an update. Selected OK, and it takes me to the ATT software update page, where it says I have the current software.

Everytime I launch the app, (Samsung Pay), it keeps prompting for an update, but then says there is no update so the application won't work

Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

Samsung said call AT&T and AT&T told me to call Samsung. It really is pretty disgusting. I will go into the AT&T technical center tomorrow, and if they can't resolve the issue, I will request either a new phone, or return it. Though this sure smells like a software issue to me

Same here. Is your carrier with AT&T?. Mines AT&T, but I have my carrier with cricket. I thought I was the only one with this problem. Since I'm not with AT&T and I'm with another carrier and maybe it effects me by carrier I dunno really. I guess I'm gonna get a replacement

Yes AandroidYo, my carrier is AT&T. I am getting a run around from both Samsung and AT&T. There is a technical center for AT&T, and I will take it in there today, and let people know if it gets resolved or they swap it. I even did a master data clear along with a complete reboot with the same issue.

Thanks for letting me know I am not the only one

I had to go into the AT&T technical support store, where they manually cleared the phone and forced the software download into the phone. It is working now. There is no way I could have gotten this to work. They had to manually force the download

This is also happening on Tmobile with s6e+. Save a trip to the store and a phone call to the carrier. Just do a factory data reset and it will clear the corrupted install. Happened to me, After the reset, let the phone download any updates on its own first and let them finish before opening S-Pay, Install S-Pay and it will then trigger another update. I read people were going to BB Samsung Reps/Carriers etc and even getting their device replaced.... "Network servor error.... Try Again Later" msg.

I did a factory data reset among other things, and it still did not correct my problem. AT&T had to force the download to my phone manually. If a data reset works for people great, but if you still have the problem, you have no choice but go to your carrier or Samsung

I went to att today and he didn't know what to do. He said he could re flash the software. Will that work?

I had the same problem. Took it to AT&T device center in Dallas,Tx. They had no idea what is wrong and said it's a fault with Samsung. Clueless, I stepped out of the shop and thought to give it a try at the Best Buy's Samsung consultant.

He was able to fix it in 15mins and Samsung Pay started working :)

I'm on Verizon and it took two try's to get it to install, after the first install I think you need to wait a minute or two finish. The first try I did not have the pay tab at the bottom of the screen but it finally reappeared. I'm going to use it in a bit to see if it works properly..

I had the same issue, with the update loop, and I was told that ATT ota is not working reliably. I went to best buy, the Samsung lady there installed the latest update on my galaxy s6 edge plus using her Samsung laptop and I was good to go.

I found a way to fix the issue.
I went into all applications in settings and uninstalled the Samsung pay application. After uninstalling the app all my credit cards were removed from my account. I then went back into the Google Play Store and reinstalled the samsung Pay app. After the install it prompted to update the application but this time the update actually went through without any problems.

I am on Verizon and im using a samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus

How did he go about fixing it... I need help asap

I had the same problem too, but i've found a way to fix it.

1. Go to setting>apps>search for samsung pay
2. On the top right you will see an option, tap on it and proceed with "uninstall updates"
3. Reinstall and it will ask you to update the apps. Update it.
4. Proceed as usual. Done.
