I'm having a hard time making Samsung Pay work. When I put the watch up to the machine to pay, the "pulse" seems to stop working. I've tried unpairing the phone, deleting the app and reloading, but nothing seems to help. My phone works fine.

Thanks for the help.

Does the payment go through? The 'pulse' vibration stops when the payment is complete or the terminal has stopped 'pinging' for an NFC data transfer.
I doubt that's the case though it's a valid fact. The terminal will complete the transaction and ask what type or print a receipt once it goes through.

@Toes Up My experience with WearOS has been similar to yours, frustrations because of what should be simple things not working. In the Galaxy Wearables app on your phone, did you go into Samsung Pay section for the watch and make sure a address is attached? I've had quirky things happen when adding to my watch. Seemed like it was 'easy' just to find sections not filled out properly.

Another possible cause could be any sort of adblocker. I fought with AdGuard devs for months to whitelist a Samsung domain in their non-togglable filter (baked in) that was blocking Samsung from syncing. I never even tried my Watch 7 to be honest.

Btw what is your phone ?

:edit: nvm, I forget what I even own. I have a Watch 5 Pro. Almost had a 7 until T-Mobile rep got pushy.

SpookDroid, the payment does not go through. It is weird how the watch seems to get read, then the "pulse" seems to stop.

SyCoREAPER, I don't recall adding my address to Samsung Pay. I'm not sure where that is, but I'll look for it and try.

I do not use any kind of ad blocker.

My phone is a Fold 6.

Thanks for your input.

Try leaving the watch on the terminal a little longer after it stops vibrating. Does the terminal give out any error or indication it read the transaction? Dos it happen with any card and at any location? All I can think of other than submitting a warranty claim is to factory reset the watch and re-load your cards.

I've tried it at several locations with the same results. I have not tried, however, using a different card (although I kind of doubt it's the card because I have the same card hooked to my phone and that still works). But I'll try that, can't hurt. I will leave it on the terminal longer too and see if that works. I've already reset the watch and I re-added the card. That didn't help.

Appreciate the help.

I've been dreading moving my watches to my new phone but they were in limbo so here's where to check.

Under Samsung Pay for the Watch (on your phone).
-Three dots top right.
-Settings
-My Info

No guarantee that will work but worth trying.
This was needed for older watches, not sure about newer. My Watch 5 Pro didn't but Watch 4 does.

maybe I missed it but is this just one terminal or all terminals. I have been using samsung pay on my watch without any problems on most terminals. There are some that don't like it.
I'll never let this go.
This wouldn't be an issue had they kept MST. That had me clinging on to my Gear S3 for a long time not letting go.

I don't see a place for the address anymore. Perhaps I'm not looking in the correct area, but I don't see it.

All terminals (let's say 4 or 5). I first noticed the problem 4 or 5 days ago.

Update: As recommended, I added another credit card and, surprisingly, the new card worked on the watch. More surpsingly, the old card now works! I have no idea why, but it appears the problem has been resolved (at least for now).

Thanks again for all the help. That's what I love about this site: there are some really knowledgeable people who are willing to offer their advice.

Glad you got it working!
If I had to guess? Adding a new card prompted a re-sync with the phone app and that renewed the tokens for the old card as well (the watch doesn't have 'unlimited' tokens, by the way... if you keep it offline or not connected/synced to the phone app you only get a handful of payment tokens before they run out and you can't use the watch to pay without the sync).
