I bought a second handed samsung S10+, it's running a Hongkong version system.
I haven't root it, and the knox is not tripped(download mode shows my knox warranty void: 0*0, where if it was tripped should be 0*1)
I don't understand then, why security folder, samsung pay and samsung health says "unauthorized modifications has been made on your device" and I've download an older version of samsung health, it even says my phone was rooted.
As far as I know, there's no way that one can root a samsung S10+(or even older models) without tripping the knox.
something I've tried:
1. I know that if one wants to root this phone, he/she has to unlock the bootloader. So I want to know if unlock the bootloader alone will trip knox. The answer is no, I've tried.
2. The way you can trip the knox is that you unlock the bootloader and download a customary rom to your phone.
3. However, unlock bootloader will cause the same problem as mine(can't use security folder, samsung pay and samsung health).
4. I 've tried wipping the data, reset to factory mode, and nand erase, etc. Also I've tried downloading an official rom through computer to my phone(by the software odin). Not working.
Finally, what I really want to know is :
1. Is unlocking bootloader a one-way ticket for using the three apps? I mean, I know I can lock the bootloader again. But after lock it again, I may be prevented from using the three apps. I guess that's why I can't use them.
2.Since my knox is not tripped, I want to use samsung pay. Is there anything I can do?

I moved this from the Galaxy Nexus forum (for the ancient and venerable original Galaxy Nexus phone) to the S10+ forum.

Try locking your bootloader since you say it's unlocked

Thanks for the advice. I've relocked it and the oem lock. But it's not working. I don't understand since knox is fine, how can the apps detect root/unauthorized modification.
Which file can record the unauthorized modifications? Even after I've refreshed the official rom through download mode, reset to factory default, and wiped the nand in the recovery mode several times.

That's definitely strange , can download root checker in play store see if it says rooted?
If bootloader is unlocked it would cause those things not to work , but you locked it again.

Yes, I definitely relock the bootloader. I'm 100% sure my phone is not rooted. I pass the safetynet check and I can use google pay, but not samsung apps.
Thanks though. I'm going to call samsung official help.

Ok , your welcome good luck.

if this is anything like my tab S3 once you root it once it trips The knox fuse permanently. Even if you unroot and go back completely stock it will still say that.

I didnt think Samsung pay worked in foreign countries , meaning HK device using Samsung pay in the USA.

This is a flaw I had with one of the many adventure I had with pie. Like I literally been thru all bugs and issues and had to find ways around it. This one was Samsung pass for me turna out it's a 3 app issue you need to update pass, pay, and auto fill theu samsung store. I didnt and decided to disable secure boot up and ended up not fingerprint or password was working . Had to reset my phone on day 1 of pie. Lol so just make sure you update all your apps to the newest ones in the store cause apk files some of those are gonna make this come up cause apparently older apps that work how we like them is no no for them lol.
