Samsung photo app taking over and merging files w/o consent and creating junk files. How to stop?

I was using another app but Samsung is aggressive. It even created a message that it knew where 100+ pics were 'lost', which I ignored. It took over storing pics even though I was using another app for photos, which was a bit confusing. Now it's merging files without consent which it says it won't do. Further it's creating junk files with one photo labeled (hidden). WTH! This has happened over time in stages.

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Introductions forum to the Ask A Question forum (when you get a chance, visit the Introductions forum and tell us a bit more about yourself if you'd like).

Which Samsung phone do you have? Are you talking about the Samsung Gallery app? Can you show us a screenshot of that message?

If you want full control root and use different Rom
