Android Central Question

New phone Samsung s10+ how to receive incoming calls

We're all here to help. Telling members to read the manual or "just Google it" isn't entirely helpful, so if you'd rather not answer a question (no matter how simple it might seem to you), please just move along to another thread. Thanks!

To the OP, please give more information about the difficulty you're having. Are you asking about when you get a call while the phone is asleep, or when you get a call while you're actively using another app on the phone?

Again, that is not a particularly helpful answer. If you're glad to help out, consider posting a link to the manual and point out the page where the solution is. That's what I do.

There may also be more to the question, which the OP would need to elaborate on. It's not clear if they just don't know to swipe the answer button, or if perhaps the incoming call screen isn't showing up, or if they're unclear on the difference between answering a call that comes in while the phone is asleep or when it appears as a banner notification while using some other app. Reading the manual may not necessarily yield an easy answer.

The "correct" answers range from "just answer it" for an expert who just had a "senior moment", to a step by step instruction, including which direction to drag the green circle in (even "swipe" is technogeek for some people). (And it has nothing to do with age - I'm 77, and won't run Linux [which is the OS Android runs in, in case someone wasn't aware] without root access. It's like firing a bazooka with my hands tied behind my back. su [or, more properly, sudo], is just there to tell you "hey, you have to use sudo for this, so think". It's not supposed to keep you from actually using Linux. [I guess it is there to keep most phone users from using Linux fully.] Granted, sudo rm -f -no-preserve-root -r -d ... was it Robert Goulet who didn't sing, "On a Clear Disk You Can Seek Forever"?)
