Samsung S22 gallery not displaying RAW images

I have recently upgraded my phone to S22 and my camera to Olympus OM-1. The OI share app works perfectly downloading images from the camera but these cannot be viewed on the phone because the file format is not supported.

I have tried installing the Expert Raw app and taking images with that: those JPEG and RAW images are displayed fine in the Gallery…but the imported RAW images from the camera still will not display.

Any suggestions?

This is an Olympus limitation. You need to convert the Olympus RAW file to a readable mobile format first. From their Q&A page:

Question :
I cannot transfer some photos using the OI.Share. What should I do?

Answer :
RAW data (file extension .orf), which can be taken with DSLR cameras or some compact cameras, are not displayed on the list of images in the Import Photos menu of OI.Share.

If the camera is equipped with the RAW Data Edit function, convert the RAW files to a smartphone readable JPEG file using this function.

The RAW files created on a Samsung phone are a universal format created by Adobe known as DNG, the RAW file created by your camera is an Olympus proprietary format known as ORF. Unless an app or program is designed to support ORF the images won't be viewable because it can't open them and clearly Samsung doesn't have support for ORF in it's gallery app which doesn't surprise me given how small the company is.
