Hi, I'm looking for fix two issues on my friend's phone.
Sometimes his phone restarts unexpectedly and recently the battery lasts a bit less than before but I think that the issues are not related because the issue of restarts he has been noticing for a long time.
I thought that restarts could be a battery issue for a matter of electric contacts but my friend said me that for a long time the issue can not happen..and that f.e. when he leaves the phone on table it can restarts even if you don't use it (to exclude an issue on contacts battery-phone..).
The build version is: KOT49H.I9301IXCUAOF1
Please give me some help...

It's still worth trying a different battery, to see if the problem persists.

Also, see if the problem persists in Safe Mode: How to boot the Galaxy S3 into Safe mode?

I'll move this to the main S3 forum (from the More Samsung Phones forum), since the S3 Neo is more or less the same as an S3.

That link doesn't work..

My friend sent me some screenshots during discharging and it looks like an abnormal working because sometimes the battery has a charge f.e. to 93% for 11hrs and other times in 2 hrs consums 30%.
My friend is using an large battery by Anker manufacturer for at least 7000mhA..

Sorry, no idea what happened to that link. Try this one: Restart in Safe Mode - Samsung Galaxy S III | Verizon Wireless

That erratic battery behavior can still be consistent with a failing battery--it's still worth trying a different one.
I don't know why but I can't still open the page..

Anyway yesterday I noticed in working processes a high use of battery by Messenger that hasn't been used..

Sometimes the phone warms a lot and restarts..

Grr. Sometimes the AC forums software does odd things to links. It might be an automatic thing that tries to prevent spam or bot links. Anyway, here's the URL--just add "www" to the front: verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-59242/

That's Facebook Messenger, right? Do you use it? If not, uninstall it and see what happens. Facebook itself is also a known battery hog, so you could also consider uninstalling Facebook and just use its mobile site in the browser.

Yes, it's Facebook Messenger. Yesterday I suggested my friend to Clear data and cache in Messenger as first attempt.
He usually uses Facebook not Messenger and if the issue doesn't fix I'll say him to uninstall Messenger.
It's strange how on some phones this issue occurs and on other phones not.
If as last attempt the issue won't fixed I think that uninstall Facebook should fix definitely..

In these days my friend is having the same problem but now it isn't Messenger. Infact if you look my attachment you can notice that the Screen On is the highest drain battery app..
What do you suggest him?

Edit July,30, 2016

I replaced the firmware with an italian one that is more recent but is the same version (4.4.2) that previous one.
Unfortunately I have the same problem and during the calls the phone restarts.
I knew that should be a custom rom that could fix the issue definitely but I don't remember which is?
Anyway...what do you suggest me?
I'd try a stress test through i.e. Antutu but this app doesn't have this feature for this version of phone..
Please help me!
Could be a hardware issue?
