Android Central Question

On my Samsung Galaxy S4 I can receive emails, create and send new emails, but I can't reply or forward any emails. I get the following - "loading messages." It cycles continuously. I've tried the following: deleted cached data for all apps; deleted and then added back my email account. No help. Same problem occurs whether I'm home or at work.

Thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks,

Gary

Try clearing catches. If problem exist, then remove that gmail account from your device and login again. Make sure that you have turned the SYNC on. Also, update your app from play store.

I disabled updates mid-December based on Mommy P's advice. Does anyone know if the app has been fixed for the problem? Have ignored all prompts to update since.

Had this problem today and found the answer on another forum- totally solved my issue. It's a December 5th update to your Android System Web Viewer. Go into settings- app manager- Android System Web Viewer, and depending on your phone, either uninstall updates, or if that option isn't available, disable the app. Restart your phone, and everthing works like it should again. Just make sure you have auto updates turned off or it will happen again. I assume they'll have a fix sometime soon, at which point we can maybe update it without worrying?

Thank you!
it solved the problem.

Mommy P, your are the bomb!! Problem finally solved! I've been fighting this problem for over a month, and our IT guy at work couldn't even figure it out.

When I disable Web Viewer, I'm unable to print emails. But saving to draft and then replying is a good workaround. No, they haven't fixed Web Viewer yet.

I've been having this too. I followed the instructions but "settings" does not get me to "app manager". I ended up going in under the Google playstore and had to type in "Android System Webview", which took me to the app, so I could uninstall updates. I was able to reply to an email without a problem, so it's in the so far-so good category. Thanks for the help!

THANK YOU....been upset with this since Dec 5th. I guess. Had to use my Outlook app to reply on my NOTE 3.
I removed updates, and BINGO. Is it an Android or Microsoft issue?
Thx again.

MOMMY P deserves a reward !
Worked fast and perfect. No restart necessary.
SETTINGS: GENERAL: APPLICATION MANAGER: ANDROID WEB: UNINSTALL UPDATES
Thank you after 4 months of unnecessary nonsense.

Unfortunately I have an HTC One M9 and could not do anything with webview won't let me uninstall doesn't show anything about applications I hit force stop and that was about it still have the problem

Thanks MommyP, but my android settings/system doesn't reflect the same path as you describe to access via the app manager- Android System Web Viewer. The System Web Viewer doesn't show up as an option to either uninstall updates or disable the app. Perhaps my problem isn't the same as either my reply or forward emails now come up with"Webpage not available....could not be loaded because: net:ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE. This just started happening out of the blue. Anyone else have this problem and find a solution?
